What do I think about what? The Latos ...Hey Dylan,

What do I think about what? The Latos trade? The need to make more trades?

In general, I only like trades when a specific weakness needs to be addressed or we have surplus assets wasting away in the system.

On the Latos trade, my thoughts are the same as they were at the time. Basically, (1) it's the right type of trade, (2) they made it one season too late wasting the 2011 season, and (3) I wish they didn't include Edison in the deal.

As for Latos himself, he seems to be a notoriously slow starter. So, it's probably not surprising that he was underwhelming in April. Still, May was better, as he had a 3.26 ERA, .196 BAA, and 33/12 K/BB ratio in 30.1 innings. His first start in June was rough, but I think he's trending in the right direction. And, given that he's only 24, he should have quite a few good years ahead of him in Cincy.

Overall, I think he and Cueto look pretty good sitting at the top of our rotation.

Thanks for the comment.

Best,
LarkLark11https://www.blogger.com/profile/06571198327064220683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6347536209014288641.post-84141993562666237012012-06-08T13:20:50.048-07:002012-06-08T13:20:50.048-07:00So, Latos has left me thoroughly unimpressed. Espe...So, Latos has left me thoroughly unimpressed. Especially considering what they gave up. But you are the man who loves to make trades. So, what do you think?Dylanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02024643490426922584noreply@blogger.com
