And, they are likely to need more than 5 starters at the MLB level, so they need more arms. Is Aroldis the right guy for that role? I'm not sure.

Personally, I like Sean Gallagher. Always have. Good fastball and nasty curveball. So, maybe he'll fill that role. I still wonder how the Reds will justify keeping Chapman in the minors. It'll be interesting to see.

Anyway, thanks for the comment!

Best,
LarkLark11https://www.blogger.com/profile/06571198327064220683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6347536209014288641.post-63652941464482106702012-01-16T21:10:20.946-08:002012-01-16T21:10:20.946-08:00Stock,

I suspect they'll give him a token opportunity to start in Spring Training and then shift him back to the bullpen.

Maybe I'm wrong, time will tell.

Thanks for the comment!

Best,
LarkLark11https://www.blogger.com/profile/06571198327064220683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6347536209014288641.post-2978877018150460822012-01-16T21:05:39.078-08:002012-01-16T21:05:39.078-08:00VF,

Maybe they'll bring in Harris as a versatile bat off the bench. CitiField is a tough place to hit, so it certainly could be dragging down his numbers, but he also wasn't all that impressive in 2010 with the Nats.

Still, an interesting name to consider.

Thanks for the comment!

Best,
LarkLark11https://www.blogger.com/profile/06571198327064220683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6347536209014288641.post-28726897405936365592012-01-16T08:51:36.958-08:002012-01-16T08:51:36.958-08:00The odds of all 5 Reds starters finishing the seas...The odds of all 5 Reds starters finishing the season without injury is pretty slim IMO. Something will happen as it always does and they will need a guy in the minors ready to fill in. Aroldis will be that guy in the minors ready to to come up and start when needed.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6347536209014288641.post-80875979619400621972012-01-15T10:12:06.953-08:002012-01-15T10:12:06.953-08:00The Reds actually save #3 million if they keep Cha...The Reds actually save #3 million if they keep Chapman in the minors long enough this season to make sure he isn't arbitration elgible after the 2013 season. My guess is they will maximize his innings and see what they have as a starter. Regardless of the results he will be in the majors in August so he can be on the post season roster.

I do like the Snider idea.Stocknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6347536209014288641.post-20952144166762959642012-01-14T06:44:19.274-08:002012-01-14T06:44:19.274-08:00*message board*message boardvottofanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16421415907828123940noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6347536209014288641.post-11002223341324279282012-01-14T06:44:01.681-08:002012-01-14T06:44:01.681-08:00I've said this on the message before, but if w...I've said this on the message before, but if we were to pursue a left handed bat, I want it to be Willie Harris. He's versatile enough that one could call him the lefty Jerry Hairston, and, when he wasn't a citi field, he had an .801 ops last year.vottofanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16421415907828123940noreply@blogger.com
