However, they are SO young that the Reds haven't assigned them to a minor league affiliate.

I haven't seen it reported exactly where they are right now, but the two logical options are 1) keeping them in extended spring training or 2) letting them continue to work out at the baseball academy in their respective home countries.

At this point, Yorman and Juan are just too young to be thrown in against even low-A ball competition. Yorman strikes me as being more advanced than Duran, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him (or Duran for that matter) appear in the short-season Pioneer League or the Gulf Coast League later this year.

Given their youth, the Reds have no choice but to be patient with the development of Duran and Yorman. When they mature a bit more, they will be ready to face the older, more advanced competition in the lower levels of the minor leagues.

I'd keep an eye out for them later this year, as they'll likely make an appearance, but if not they'll show up on the radar next year. They still have huge upside, but it'll take a while to get there.

Best,
LarkLark11https://www.blogger.com/profile/06571198327064220683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6347536209014288641.post-84810471337618536022009-06-12T21:30:58.573-07:002009-06-12T21:30:58.573-07:00hey what happened to juan duran i tried to look hi...hey what happened to juan duran i tried to look him up on minorleaguebaseball.com and his profile thing says he is a free agent what happened. and it also says that yorman rodriguez is in AA carolina what is going on with the hyped international prospects. please try and find out what happenedAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6347536209014288641.post-55906379237302119352009-06-11T15:22:19.902-07:002009-06-11T15:22:19.902-07:00Hey Anon,

Arizona State kicks off their College World Series on Sunday and Leake is 99.9% certain to be the starter in that game. So, I may wait until I watch that game to take another look at him in action.

Thanks!

Best,
LarkLark11https://www.blogger.com/profile/06571198327064220683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6347536209014288641.post-19577333152515321202009-06-11T11:21:35.363-07:002009-06-11T11:21:35.363-07:00When are you going to do an artical about mike lea...When are you going to do an artical about mike leak?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
